Mr.
Frank Rippl,
Conductor Emeritus, Organist for the Festival of
Nine Lessons and Carols, and co-founder of the Appleton Boychoir, is
a native of Menasha, Wisconsin. He received a Bachelor of Music
degree from Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, and a Master
of Arts degree in Orff-Schulwerk from the University of Denver.
Mr. Rippl earned an additional Orff-Schulwerk certification from the
Royal Conservatory of Music at the University of Toronto, and has
also studied at the Royal School of Church Music, Croyden, England.
Mr. Rippl is a member of the Organ Historical Society, performing at their 1990 National Convention, is Past-Dean of the Northeastern
Wisconsin Chapter of The American Guild of Organists, and coordinates
the Lunchtime Organ Recital Series during the summer in the Fox
Cities area. He is also a member of the Packerland Theatre Organ
Society and often performs live organ accompaniment for silent films.
Mr. Rippl taught Elementary Vocal Music for the Appleton Area School
District for thirty-three years, retiring in 2002. He was selected
among forty teachers nationwide to study creating opera with children
at the Metropolitan Opera House. He has been the organist/
choirmaster at All Saints Episcopal Church in Appleton since 1971.
Frank is married to Carol Jegen, a soprano soloist, voice teacher and
theatrical director. Carol and Frank were the 2007 winners of Thrivent
Financial for Lutherans' Hanns Kretzschmar Award for Excellence in the
Arts.
